The Night Angels are a group of pastors and volunteers of the Universal Church who dedicate their time to helping those who are in need. People who are usually despised and overlooked by society are offered a helping hand and are taught that a life is never too broken to be rebuilt.
On January 29th, the Night Angels invited the large quantity of homeless and hungry that frequent Penn station, and brought them to the Universal Church in Newark, New Jersey. These men and women were offered warm clothing and food. Many of those present had college degrees, jobs or were someone’s parent, but unfortunately found themselves in a hard situation. During that night, a young man shared a little bit of his story: from the age of 20, he had been moving from prison to shelters, living life with no direction. But this young man along with those who came were given a chance to start anew. All were offered along with the food and company, spiritual support, prayers, and a word of faith.
The doors of the Universal Church in Newark, New Jersey are open every day, and every Thursday evening the work of the Night Angels will continue.
