Have you ever seen a firefighter running into a burning building dressed in a sports jersey? That would be crazy right? I believe you can’t even wrap your head around this example… it’s just too crazy.
A burning building is no place to be running dressed in a jersey. But on the other hand, it’s normal to see someone running on a basketball court in a jersey right? Yes, because due to the activity that they are involved in, those clothes would be appropriate. On the other hand, I believe we can all agree that a burning building would be the wrong place for such attire.
In life, we can easily tell if something is out of place. It should be the same in our own lives. We must be able to see when something is wrong or off.
Look at what the Word of God says in this verse and see what you get from it.
And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.
Above only… those are very powerful words! God is saying that those who do His will, won’t ever have to experience defeat.
Remember when the women went to look for Jesus and the angel told her, “He is not here; for He is risen,” in other words, you are looking for Him in the wrong place!
Maybe you are in the wrong place in life. The Word of God says you will be the head and not the tail, but here you are depending on A, B, C or D. You are always going to the pharmacy because you are sick, you are working at a job that pays crumbs, you are even living in the wrong place in the sense of how bad your living conditions are compared to what God has promised.
There’s a solution for you. Just take a look at the verse above again… did you realize that this promise was conditional? The condition is for you to be willing to obey His commands. Obedience to God opens the doors for you to leave the wrong place in life and get to a new and happier destination. Are you ready to trade places?
May the God of the Bible bless you
