UCKG Pastors: Be vigilant and pray
“So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!” – Corinthians 10:12 (NIV)
The scriptures warn its servants of the importance of being vigilant, throughout the long run towards salvation, especially men and women who have placed their life on the Altar. Pastors’ and wives leave behind their dreams, personal goals and family to solely live to fulfill God’s will, which is to save souls. They dedicate their entire lives to be used as an instrument in the hands of God.
As the above verse mentions, those who are standing firm must be careful to not fall. It’s an alert to always be careful when it comes to your spiritual life. Never underestimate this verse throughout your journey with Christ; as it also states in the bible verse “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:8.
What makes a person fall?
In order to fall one must be standing, but what makes a person “fall”? There are many factors that try to weaken one’s spiritual life such as doubts, pride, injustices, time and the list can go on. Prayer, meditation and the practice of faith upon the word of God can prevent a servant from diverting in the faith. Taking time to invest in your spiritual life is what renews you each day. Humbleness and sincerity also maintains a person in constant faith.
There are many UCKG ex pastors that share their experience of what lead to their fall as well as their testimony upon their return. Regardless of other people’s opinion, they are brave and humble enough to share their internal battle and hardships they faced in order to help and advert fellow colleagues and congregants; a testimony to help someone who might be going through the same situation. Ex – pastor Ana Claudia Mendes shares her experience and what helped her remain in path of faith regardless the downfalls she faced. However, some pastors distance themselves from the Altar and faith permanently. A decision that impacts their life in many ways.ler mais
