The Ark of the Covenant

The Ark of the Covenant

By Jeannette Almazan

The Bible mentions several monuments that were named after the artisan that built them. Noah’s Ark and The Temple of Solomon are a few examples.

Why then was the Ark of the Covenant not called: The Ark of Bezalel who built it or The Ark of Moses who was the one that designed it? The Ark of the Covenant was so sacred that it could not be made for a covenant between men, but only with God. It symbolizes God Himself.

God instructed Moses about the construction of the Ark of the Covenant. Inside the Ark, there were three elements that testified to God’s work among His people.

1) The 10 Commandments represented discipline,
2) Manna, that did not rot represented divine providence and
3) Aaron’s rod that budded showed which direction to follow.

The most significant part was the Mercy Seat, which rested on top of the Ark. It had two golden cherubim facing each other, from between which God would speak to Moses about everything He wanted His people to do. The Mercy Seat was surrounded by a crown made of fine gold.

God placed this crown on the Ark of the Covenant, as a symbol; all those who obey what is written will receive His riches. When you make this Covenant with God the hidden treasures of the earth, innovative ideas and all that you need to make a difference in this world become possible for you.

Everyone wants to be rewarded with victory, success, conquests and all the riches on earth, but it’s first necessary to obey and follow God’s commandments. Many seek to get into a partnership with a friend or someone influential, but forget to first make a covenant with God.

The ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months. And the Lord blessed Obed-Edom and all his household.
-2 Samuel 6:11
